Cadaver Lab 2018

Dear Colleagues,

In the International 3D-Surgery Course Cadaver Lab, you will have a great opportunity to practise the most modern deformity surgery principles. I believe that for daily practise the cadaver lab is an important part of this kind of course. You will work with fresh-frozen specimens, which have been prepared for the learning exercises in a lab with dissection tables and a master table with laminar flow, as well as an image intensifier. All cadavers are set up in a realistic orthopaedic environment for performing a surgery simulation. All surgical techniques will be presented by highly experienced and passionate surgeons.

Scientific Objectives:

* To increase the attendees’ comfort with using “lengthening nails” – related retrograde femoral nailing and suprapatellar nailing techniques, high tibial osteotomy, femoral supracondylar closed wedge osteotomy, and methods for preventing rotational or malalignment complications during surgery through live surgical observation and hands on participation with cadaver limbs.

* To learn the newest surgical techniques and latest trends related to deformity surgery.

* To decrease potential complications and manage foreseen problems during surgery. I have been working very hard to put together this cadaver lab, and we look forward to seeing you at the Internaitonal 3D-Surgery Course in Munich.

With best wishes,
Mustafa Gökhan Bilgili, MD
